Happy August!

We've made it through another month!

Recently, we have been doing a lot of weeding, planting, and harvesting.  I'm starting to feel like a broken record saying that...  But it's true!  Weeding, planting, and harvesting makes the farm run smoothly!

In my last post, I talked about how we had been working on re-fencing some of the electric fencing around the goat pen and the pasture.  Well...  We're done with the goat pen!  Now the goats can happily stay out there and free range all they want.

I got Rocky's good side!
In addition to re-fencing, we have also started to clear some of the trees and brush from the fencing at the top of the pasture.  It's very dense and progress is very slow, but it's not impossible!

I've got bad news for everyone who thought the rabbits were cute and good news for everyone who thinks rabbits taste good: we sent them to the slaughterhouse last week.

Putting salt on the pelts to preserve them
Because everyone loves the turkeys, we started letting them out of the coop last week!  Now they get to join the rest of the animals on the farm in free ranging!

One last thing.  On the farm, we like to have fun and last week, on July 25th, we celebrated Christmas in July!  Which was simply everyone getting a donut, courteously of one of the interns.
