For quite a while now, one of the ducks has been sitting on her eggs and we've been waiting eagerly for them to hatch! Yesterday, Myke said that he could hear one of the ducklings underneath the mother but couldn't see the newborn. Well, today we a quick peek at the little guy (or girl)! Our duck had a little chick with her!
Sometimes, the chickens will lay eggs in the duck house and one of them just so happened to be on the nest when the mother duck started to sit on them. The mother duck has accepted the chick as one of her own.
The mother duck is still sitting on quite a few eggs and we are expecting them to hatch (into ducklings) next week!
