I spoke with a farmer from Chico, California. He said that he would love to have even a fraction of the rain that we have. I spoke with a farmer in Southern Missouri - their crops have been almost completely washed away. It sounds like it is either feast or famine for rain this year, but we are thankful for the break!!
Here are some photos from the week - rain brings weeds:
Lots of weeds
Hard at work: Volunteers - P.J., Amy, and future intern Molly
Kinder-Gardeners -James and Owen hoeing their garden
D'avignon Radishes in raised beds
Intern Chris and future intern Molly building supports for tomatoes
After sunset on Weeman Road.
Sweet potatoes fighting for all they are worth in spite of endless rain and cold temperatures.
